Pandemic

Jindriska Krejci

Drawing from the myriad of historical photographs taken during the 1918-1920 Spanish Flu pandemic, which capture the intinmate stories of people during a pandemic.

These photographs portray drastic changes in everyday life in the current pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus. The photographs were taken in a span of multiple weeks since the virus has become an important issue in Europe. The artwork represents people´s ability to adjust to difficult situations in a small period of time.

I started photography couple of years ago. My main inspiration for my photos is capturing people as they say “in the moment”. I love walking around the city and discovering the different ways people act in certain situations. Taking photos enables me to remember special moments and also give my viewers a chance to see and experience feelings behind something simple as a photo. I try to bring out feelings and emotion from everyday life situations capturing them and bringing them together to form a certain theme to my collections.
